Support

Sol is in beta and run by a small team. A person reads everything sent here.

Something broke, or a thought: the beta testers' Discord, where the three of us read along. In Sol, it's Tell us… in the menu bar menu.

Help, bugs, ideas

Write in the Discord (or press Tell us… in Sol's menu bar menu, which opens it) and say what you did, what you expected, and what happened. Tell us… also copies Sol's version and your Mac's model to the clipboard: paste that line under your message, so we can find the problem. A screenshot helps. If you have a GitHub account, you can open an issue instead.

A copy of your data, or deleting it

Email us from the address you sign in to Sol with, and say copy or delete, and give your Sol name. For a room, give its code too. We then write to the email on your account to confirm it's you, and we act once you reply.

A copy comes as one file, sent only to that address. A deletion stops your account within about an hour of your confirmation and is complete within 30 days, backups included. Privacy lists what's kept and what's deleted.

Report a room or what's in it

If something in Sol is illegal, abusive, or puts someone at risk, email us: the room's code, what the problem is, and where in the room it is. You don't need an account to report. We look at every report, and we can remove content, close the room or suspend the account (Terms). We won't tell the person you reported who you are, except for a copyright notice (the law has us pass it on) or when the law requires it.

If someone is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first.

Security problems

If you find a way into an account, a room or our server that shouldn't be there, please tell us privately at [security address: comes with Sol's domain]. Don't use a public issue for this. Tell us what you found and how to see it. We'll reply, fix it, and thank you, if you'd like that. Please don't access other people's data, and don't disrupt the service while you test. If you follow these rules and tell us first, we won't take action against you for your research.
